Higgins Hope is a non-profit organization serving the DC Metropolitan region in the fight against human trafficking by providing awareness, prevention and aftercare. While we advocate for all victims of human trafficking, our primary initiatives focus on rescuing and restoring women ages 18-25 who have escaped trafficking situations.

We get it. People still think human trafficking is a problem somewhere else. For children in developing countries and marginalized, young girls in red light districts around the world.
Think again.
Human trafficking, and specifically sex trafficking, is happening in our own communities. Officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other law enforcement agencies have confirmed there is a growing problem with human trafficking in Virginia and throughout the DC metropolitan region, within diverse venues including middle, high schools and college campuses, online escort services, residential brothels, on city streets and in truck stops, strip clubs, hotels and motels, and elsewhere.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 911.
If you believe you have information about a potential trafficking situation:
Call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) toll-free hotline at 1-888-373-7888: Call Specialists are available 24/7 to take reports of potential human trafficking. All reports are confidential and you may remain anonymous. Interpreters are available.
The information you provide will be reviewed by the NHTRC and forwarded to specialized law enforcement and/or service providers where appropriate. Get more information on our reporting policies here.
